I went back through some of my old photos to see which ones could be new and improved with Gimp.

I've been noticing a huge trend in flowers here.  What can I say?  They're photogenic, they hold still and they become translucent in the light.  However, I was starting to feel a bit unbalanced with the extreme of girliness.

So I threw in a frog.
Which could fit in right with the flowers if you think about all the wonderful versions of The Frog Prince out there.

And my butterfly-turned-phoenix, just because it's cool.

Love Ya Technology;)

So in refusing to get going today, as usual, I procrastinate.  Only in procrastinating I actually did something semi-useful.  I may not be up and dressed with my teeth brushed (I am a lazy teen at heart.  I think the condition is permanent), but I have been learning more about the gimp program.  That's right- hi technology, smooches.  I used to think you were some snobby kid at school but you are growing on me.  Looking at my etsy site I realized that my banner made with gimp was cooler looking than the actual posters I'm selling, so I thought I could use that to my advantage.

I can take pieces of photos instead of the whole thing.
Which is perfect for all those photos that have really cool sections but just can't cut it as a whole.

Now maybe I'll get dressed and seriously consider getting on those things that need to be done.  hmmm.

My new Etsy page banner:

In which during the creation of I hunched over the computer screen snarling and drooling like a rabid monster with my neck muscles tensing in fury every time something did not work and muttering terse obscenities under my breathe. It occurs to me that this is how most of my online assignments in college were done. This program was really not all that hard. Perhaps technology and I are not meant to be after all. I just persistently follow it around like a creepy stalker insisting that we can work things out; remember how happy we both are when we tough it out and find success? Technology patiently patting me on the back with a weary tolerant look on its face and me proudly grinning and holding up my new creation like a little kid with his first finger painting. Give me a break, technology. I don't even know how to text. Nope. Never done it. If we're going to make this relationship work, you've got to accept that your partner is a little slow. What? Wait! Come back . . .

Edging out into the world

I have a shop on etsy! Wahoo! And now the dilema of whether I should be sharing pictures on my blog that I'm selling on etsy. Of course both websites are tiny corners that are rarely frequented so the dilema is mostly in my head, but it is still the moral dilema of a recluse. So my solution is to take my blog off of huge public listings, since it's not big there anyway, thus freeing me for possible more ranting among my pictures, making it more than a photography blog. There. And as for sharing my pictures, since I still WANT to....
